Feeling sentimental..
May. 9th, 2012 | 12:07 am
As we grew into youths, we had lesser time. We still played and fight.
Now that we are young adults, we have significantly lesser time than before for each other.
But memories we had together are more precious than ever.
Thank you for always making all the funny requests that you wished me to do for you. (Sucha boyboy!)
Thank you for always being there for me at home whenever I needed you.
Thank you for always listening whenever I needed to pour out my joy & sadness.
You meant so much to me. I know it but I didn't know that you are more than significant till today.
I miss you.. I miss your presence.. I miss your loud and noisy talking at home..
And, I love you..

Our Daily Bread - A Long and Winding Path
May. 1st, 2012 | 02:09 am
location: Singapore, Kampong Pasir Ris, Tampines Estate
Sometimes the path of life seems impossibly steep and lengthy. I have no strength and no will for the journey. Then I remember God knew this path long before I was called to walk it. He has always known the difficulties I would experience, the pain that I could never explain to another. He knows and offers His presence.
Perhaps you’re overwhelmed with sadness today. It may be the weight of a difficult ministry; the worry of a hard marriage; the sorrow of a struggling child; the care of an aging parent; other troubles that come with life. “Surely,” you say, “God would not have me walk this way. There must be another, easier path for me to travel.”
But are any of us wise enough to know that some other way would make us into better and wiser children? No, our Father in heaven knows the best path, out of all possible paths, to bring us to completion (Ps. 142:3).
His ways are higher than our ways; His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isa. 55:9). We can humbly take the path He has marked out for us today, and do so in absolute trust in His infinite wisdom and love. He is wiser and more loving than we can ever know. He who sees has foreseen and will not lead us astray.
Be still and know that He is God
For pathways steep and rough;
Not what He brings, but what He is
Will always be enough. —Anon.
God will never lead you down a wrong path.

34 more days..

I'm truly amazed by how people can write a 14-20 pages of 70-minute lesson plan! I'm already struggling to write 4 pages for plotting of quadratic functions and reactivity of metals with water.. Wish that I have a flair for writing (or bullshitting..?) and creativity..
Having 830 class everyday + travelling by buses and train = try-it-yourself-and-you-know-it
Bye, I'm going to embrace it for 34 more days and I will be leaving SG for good..

and I will be leaving..
I have been reading up on joy lately. Joy and peace are what I really need most..
Here's what I read from Kay Warren's Definition of Joy:
Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright, and the determined choice to praise God in every situation.
You’ll find nothing in that definition about happy feelings, because, as we all know, happiness is fleeting and temporary.
We tend to think that life comes in hills and valleys. In reality, it’s much more like train tracks. Every day of your life, wonderful, good things happen that bring pleasure and contentment and beauty to you. At the exact same time, painful things happen to you or those you love that disappoint you, hurt you, and fill you with sorrow. These two tracks — both joy and sorrow — run parallel to each other every single moment of your life.
That’s why, when you’re in the midst of an amazing experience, you have a nagging realization that it’s not perfect. And while you’re experiencing something painful, there’s the glorious realization that there is still beauty and loveliness to be found. They’re inseparable.
If you look down train tracks into the brightness of the horizon, the tracks become one. You can’t distinguish them as two separate tracks. That’s how it will be for us, too. One day, our parallel tracks of joy and sorrow will merge into one. The day we meet Jesus Christ in person and see the brightness of who he is, it will all come together for us. Then it will all make complete sense.

Our Daily Bread - No Greater Love
Apr. 7th, 2012 | 12:38 am
music: No Not One - Brandon Heath
To give your life so another person can live is the ultimate proof of love. During the night that Jesus was betrayed, He told His disciples of His intention to give His life in exchange for mankind. He told them: “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15:13). And then He set the ultimate example of self-sacrifice by going to the cross.
Have you ever given any thought to the fact that Jesus did that for you—that He died in your place? In so doing, He not only proved His love for you, but He also made it possible for you to be forgiven of your sins and to have an eternal home in heaven.
Now will keep me to the end;
In His care securely resting
On His promise I depend. —Bosch

“Sometimes we get sad about things and we don’t like to tell other people that we are sad about them. We like to keep it a secret. Or sometimes, we are sad but we really don’t know why we are sad, so we say we aren’t sad but we really are.”
― Mark Haddon, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Our Daily Bread - Trust Me
Mar. 29th, 2012 | 10:12 pm
location: Singapore, Kampong Pasir Ris, Tampines Estate
When I was a little girl, my aunt and uncle took me to Lake Michigan. While some of my cousins ventured far out into the waves, I played close to shore. Then my Uncle Norm asked me, “Can you swim?” “No,” I admitted. “Don’t worry,” he said. “I’ll take you out there.” “But it’s too deep,” I protested. “Just hang on to me,” he assured me. “Do you trust me?” Then I took his hand and we began to walk farther out into the lake.
When my feet couldn’t touch the bottom anymore, Uncle Norm held me up and reassured me, “I’ve got you. I’ve got you.” Then finally he said, “Okay, let your feet down. You can stand here.” I was afraid because I thought we were still in deep water, but I trusted him and happily discovered that I was standing on a sandbar.
Have you ever been in so much despair that you felt as if you were sinking in deep water? The difficulties of life can be oppressive. God doesn’t promise that we will escape the turbulent seas of life, but He does promise, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Heb. 13:5).
We can trust our faithful God to be there in all of our struggles. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you” (Isa. 43:2).
God, give me the faith of a little child!
A faith that will look to Thee—
That never will falter and never fail,
But follow Thee trustingly. —Showerman
Before your burden overcomes you, trust God to put His arms underneath you.
